What a stocked Hayward breakroom looks like
Picture the kitchen at nine in the morning. The coffee canister is full and there are filters by the machine. The fridge has water and something cold, the snack bins aren’t down to the flavors nobody likes, and cups, napkins and plates are where people expect them. That is the whole goal of our pantry service. Hayward Janitorial buys the food, drink and kitchen goods, carries it in on whatever day suits your office, and shelves it.
It is booked separately from cleaning. You can add it to our janitorial service or take it on its own, with no cleaning contract needed.
Three questions at the start
Setup is a short meeting with whoever looks after the kitchen, and it turns on three questions. What do people actually eat and drink? What sits around untouched? Does anyone have a dietary need we should plan for? Coffee strength and how fast the pot empties, whether the fridge leans toward water, sparkling drinks or juice, and gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian or low-sugar requests all get settled here.
Then we settle on a spending limit for food and drink each month and buy inside it. If prices move or a request would go over, we tell you before it happens. New requests join the next restock, and things that sit unopened come off.
The restock itself
Drinks go into the fridge, snack bins and shelves are filled to the amounts on your order, and the coffee station gets coffee, tea, sweetener and creamer. Paper goods for the kitchen are counted and topped up: cups and lids, stirrers, napkins, plates, bowls, plastic cutlery and coffee-maker filters. Older stock moves forward so it’s used before the new.
Before leaving we check dates and pull anything expired, wipe the counters, shelves, sink edge and outside of the microwave, sweep crumbs and wrappers off the snack area and empty the kitchen bins.
Hayward offices, parks and flex buildings
Office space in Hayward takes several shapes. Downtown has street-front professional offices. Multi-building business parks near Interstate 880 mix private offices and reception areas with lab and warehouse space, and the industrial side of town adds multi-tenant office and flex buildings.
A breakroom in a small professional office and a break area in a flex building usually end up with very different orders. A plant or warehouse whose break area is shared across shifts is a natural fit, since nobody on a production schedule has time to shop. Pantry restocking doesn’t depend on who cleans the building; our office cleaning is a separate service.
Other good fits
Offices that treat the kitchen as a perk stand to gain the most. A coworking operator can use it so the shared pantry never looks picked over, whatever hour a member drops in. It also suits clinics and medical offices wanting a staff room stocked between patients, and retail shops that want the stockroom fridge full for staff who stand at a counter all day.
Small teams benefit as much as big ones. An eight-person office doesn’t go through much, but someone still has to notice the coffee is low before it runs out, and that is exactly the part that tends to slip.
With or without our cleaning
If we clean your building, the pantry restock can be set for one of your cleaning visits, and one crew can handle both jobs in a single trip. Everyone we send has been background-checked, and our supervisors look over the breakroom on inspection walks. Restroom tissue, towels and soap belong to a different service; you’ll find it under janitorial supplies.
If your building is cleaned in-house, we come on a day of your choosing just for the pantry, and your cleaning routine doesn’t change.
What it costs
Food and drink come out of your monthly spending limit. The service fee is worked out from four things: the size of your team, the number of items on the order, how frequently we come and how much cleanup you want while we’re there. We go through those during a free walkthrough and send a written quote. Tell us your team size and how often you’d like the breakroom restocked on the quote form.
A few useful answers
Common questions.
How do you learn what our team likes?
We ask your kitchen contact at setup, watch what empties and what doesn’t over the first few restocks, and change the order as requests come in.
Can you plan around allergies and diets?
Yes. Gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, low-sugar and other needs are part of the order from the first visit.
Can we use your pantry service if another company cleans our building?
Yes. It’s booked separately, so any Hayward business can use it on its own.
What if a month's shopping would go over our limit?
We tell you first and suggest what to trim or swap. We don’t go over the limit without your say-so.
